PBL
PBL (positive behaviour for learning) has a strong research base and has been shown to improve student outcomes, increase staff and student wellbeing, and reduce behavioral incidents. PBL helps schools to select evidence-based practices which have been shown to improve student behaviour and establish safe and supportive learning environments.
Our school mascot, Ardy the giraffe, is a valuable addition to our school and is used to assist students to learn positive behaviours for learning. Our school expectations matrix breaks down each of these rules and behaviours.

Student Code of Conduct
Gympie Special School is committed to providing a safe and respectful
learning environment for all students, staff, parents and visitors.
The Gympie Special School Student Code of Conduct sets out the
responsibilities and processes we use in our school to promote a productive,
effective whole school approach to positive behaviour for learning.
Its purpose is to facilitate high standards of behaviour from all in the school
community, ensuring learning and teaching in our school is prioritised, where
all students are able to experience success and staff enjoy a safe workplace.
