Gympie Special School provides an educational program to support students with a suspected or verified disability. Students who attend Gympie Special School must have an intellectual impairment as their primary disability and may also have an additional disability including autism spectrum disorder, physical impairment, hearing or vision impairment.

Parents and carers of children with disabilities who are of compulsory schooling age (five years to school leaving age) should contact the Principal for an explanation of the enrolment process which involves regional office approval.

Please contact the Principal if you are interested in learning more about the enrolment process or visiting the school.

For children of compulsory school age, enrolment is subject to the process outlined in Education Queensland’s Procedure: Enrolment in state primary, secondary and special schools which can be located on the Department of Education website. Additional enrolment criteria can be found on the Minister's Policy on Enrolment in State Special Schools.
